Residents protesting the continued presence of armed police officers in the Magodo Phase 2 Estate neighborhood are addressed by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo- Olu.

Residents of Lagos State' s Magodo Phase 2 Estate have battled with judgment creditors, forcing the Peoples Democratic Party' s Lagos State chieftains to respond.Babatunde Gbadamosi, the PDP candidate in the recent Lagos- East Senatorial District bye- elections, recently tweeted on his social media platform that the governor put the wagon before the horse in his management of the judgment creditors' and the estate' s inhabitants' conflicts.

" This is what should have been done before, instead of needless grandstanding that dragged the office of the Executive Governor into disrepute, " Gbadamosi said in response to a Lagos State press statement titled " Lagos State Government Meets With Stakeholders on the Magodo Shangisga Dispute, " in which the state later proposed an amicable solution to the judgment creditors.
While condemning previous governments, he praised Governor Babajide Sanwo- Olu for intervening fast and fairly.

" Kudos to Governor Babajide Sanwo- Olu for taking this critical first step toward implementing the Supreme Court Judgement and ending the picture of the Lagos State Government over the previous 22 years as one that routinely disobeys or skirts unfavorable judicial pronouncements, " he stated.
Ganiu Taofeeq, the state' s former PDP press secretary, stated the Lagos State Government has done a good job of assisting Magodo victims while engaging judgment creditors.
In a phone interview with The PUNCH, Taofeeq expressed concern that the Governor was powerless in his role as Chief Security Officer in the face of the Chief Superintendent of Police, who was dispatched by the Inspector- General of Police, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice to carry out an assignment in a " Getaspo
" I anticipated the governor to put his abilities as the state' s Chief Security Officer to the test because he was counseling the police officer on how to keep the citizens of Magodo safe, " he said.

The governor' s weakness, according to the PDP leader, illustrates the Presidency' s oppressive powers.
" The PDP held a National Conference, which the APC dismissed as merely a gathering of political buddies, therefore they boycotted it, " he stated." However, we debated far- achieving restructuring on the 2014 National Conference, which, if approved, might have given Lagos and different states their personal kingdom police. " This outrageous disrespect to the governor of the country' s maximum imaginitive and multicultural nation (sic) might now no longer have took place withinside the first place, " Taofeeq said.

He connected the Magodo incident to President Muhammadu Buhari' s (retd. ) " dictatorial tendencies, " saying, " It is only in Nigeria that a President has complete authority over the security apparatus.
